Janvikas is an NGO based in Indore, in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. It was started in the year 2001, as an organ for social action in Indore. On 23rd April 2003 it was made a Registered Society, under the Madhya Pradesh Societies Registration Act 1973 with the registration number IND/6857. Janvikas has also been registered under section12-A (a) of The Income Tax Act 1961. It has been awarded the rank of 80-G, recognizing its services in the field of prevention of Child Labour and care to the poor and the marginalized groups of people in Indore.
Activities are in progress in 'Creating awareness among people of Indore city on cleanliness' as part of Swach Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with Indore Municipal corporation.
An extensive survey of Rag Pickers in Indore city is being carried out by Janvikas Society.
Janvikas is part of the nation wide campaign for inclusion of Rag Pickers into the Solid Waste Management Process.
The Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 clearly states about the inclusion of Rag Pickers in the Solid Waste Management Process. Rag Pickers are the owners of dry waste generated.
